Essentium High Performance PLA

As discussed in our earlier post, “Essentium PLA Case Study,” our High Performance PLA is dramatically different than the standard PLA available on the market today. This high-temperature, high-strength formulation is currently being used in applications that were previously never considered for PLA. Additionally, our PLA maintains the printability and usability of standard PLA, which makes this the ideal material for a wide variety of applications. Essentium Copolyester PCTG

Essentium Copolyester PCTG is poised to become one of the new favorite filaments for the maker and rapid prototyping community. PETG is already considered a go-to filament for makers around the world. However, here at Essentium, we don’t settle for the status quo. Therefore, we have found and filamentized PCTG. PCTG is chemically close to PETG but with slight modifications that improve its mechanical properties. This means that our PCTG is an easy-to-use material with incredible surface finish, while also providing better impact strength and chemical resistance than PETG. This robust material can be printed in open air and over a large temperature range, and depending on the temperature chosen, our PCTG can give your prints either a glossy or matte finish. This opens up an even wider range of printing possibilities.
Essentium Carbon Fiber-Filled Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is one of the strongest filaments available on the 3D printing market. Various industries use this material’s light weight and high performance capabilities in polymer-based components that require exceptional strength, such as bulletproof glass. At Essentium, we infused this material with chopped carbon fibers to further increase its strength and stiffness. The resulting polymer is an engineer’s dream. Our material exhibits excellent mechanical properties, including great dimensional stability and heat resistance. Reinforced with carbon fiber, this filament has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, meaning you get more for less. From quadcopters and biomedical devices to tooling and fixturing, our PC/CF will help you create parts that are limited only by your imagination.
